What Andrea Enjoys About Practicing Law

I have been a trial lawyer for nearly the entirety of my 24 years in practice. My broad professional experiences, which include serving as a trial and appellate prosecutor in Harris and Brazos Counties, medical malpractice defense counsel, as well as in house counsel for one of the largest insurance syndicates in the world, have shaped my approach in representing my clients.

Since 2007, my practice has focused on family law. It is critical for a client, who is navigating his or her way through the emotionally challenging circumstances of a divorce and custody issues, to have not only a skilled lawyer, but also someone who understands how overwhelming the situation can seem. What I bring my clients is a practical approach in

evaluating what law provides as options for resolution in light of the unique facts presented in the case. Divorce, and especially a child custody matter, should not be a “one size fits all.” I see my role in the process first to give my client the options available under the applicable law and the existing facts, then to assist the client in formulate and implement a plan to reach the best possible outcome available under the circumstances. I am also a trained mediator and am trained in collaborative law, which provides my clients with unique perspective and viable alternatives to litigation.

Andrea's Experience

I am Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. According to the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, there are over 70,000 lawyers in Texas, but fewer than 725 are Board Certified in Family Law. I am both proud and humbled to have earned this certification.

Andrea's Personal Story

I grew up in Southeast Texas. Neither of my parents were horse-enthusiasts, but I have always loved horses and the outdoors. My husband and I enjoy competing with our American Quarter Horses and are active in the Texas Quarter Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association and the Houston Livestock Show organizations. I also serve on the Brazos Horse Extension Committee and am also a member of the Bryan Rotary Club.
